Placid Pandin

Placid Pandin Lake
The second leg of our Laguna escapade is a visit to San Pablo City's Pandin Lake.  The city is known for its seven lakes.  While Pandin is smaller than Lake Sampaloc, still it is among the most popular ones.

The charm of Pandin Lake is the serenity it offers to its visitors.  The crisp fresh air and the lush greenery embracing the lake add some kind of comfort and warmth.

Laguna Escapade

Chapel of Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery

The strong winds and heavy rains did not dampen our will to proceed with our one-day Laguna escapade.  It's been more than a week when we planned to tour Nagcarlan and San Pablo City, both in the province of Laguna.  Although some of those who initially confirmed backed out, Jopee, Jena, Karen and I decided to push through with the trip.

We arrived at around 1:00 PM in San Pablo City, our first stop.  I wanted to have the three girls have a taste of authentic Batangas goto, but a local directed us to Prosperity Foodhouse which is conveniently located along the Maharlika Highway.

Sariaya Remembered

Road side view on our ascent to Mt. Banahaw
About 3 years ago, a balikbayan friend of mine, Roy, joined Green Team Pilipinas' tree-planting project.  The said project was done at the Sariaya side of Mt. Banahaw. I stumbled upon some of the pictures that Roy took.

If my memory serves me right, the trip started at the gas station at the corner of Gil Puyat Avenue and Pasong Tamo St.  We joined the early birds, Tita Grace Consumido and her daughters.

We hastily took our breakfast in KFC while waiting for fellow Green Team member, Khalil, who generously volunteered his L300 van. At around 5:00 AM, the trip started. We slept all throughout the trip and before we knew it, we're already in Sariaya, Quezon.

Budget Inns in Vigan City

Grandpa's Inn in Vigan City
When I checked Pilipinas Road Trip page in Facebook, I got some inqueries regarding budget inns in Vigan City.

I immediately scoured the Internet for places that are light on the pocket.  In this post, I will provide some budget inns and hotels that Vigan City vistiors and tourists can consider.

Grandpa's Inn is conveniently located at the corner of Bonifacio Street and Quirino Boulevard.  The inn boasts of Kusina Felicitas (that offers authentic Ilocano dishes), Uno Grille (for all-time grilled dishes) and Cafe Uno (for coffee, cakes and pasta).

Tagaytay Mid-Week Treat

Tagaytay is the perfect place for chilling out
Tagaytay has always had a special place in my heart. So when I got an invitation from my good friend, Tita Vicky, for a luncheon treat, I immediately accepted it. The luncheon was arranged for some of Tita Vicky's close friends in celebrating her birthday.

Tita Vicky met Daisy and Cecille at McDo outlet at the corner of Quezon Avenue and EDSA. I, on the other hand, met Mark at Waltermart on Pasay Road. From there, we picked up Ryan at Coastal Mall along Roxas Blvd.

The Lighthouse of Capones Island

The Lighthouse of Capones
The Anawangin article that I featured last year was from my third trip to the place last year.  During that trip we skipped the beautiful and mysterious Capones Island.

Fortunately I stumbled upon some photos of Capones and its lighthouse.  The pictures were taken by my former officemates Ross Pinon and Jasper Delgado.
